Incorporating Proper Pitching Technique
If you think you do, how do you rate with the pros when it comes to pitching mechanics. I’m not talking relief pitchers either; I’m talking about the starting pitchers with outstanding track records that have played for years like Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan, Greg Maddox etc. These pitchers could not do or have done what they do or did without proper pitching mechanics.
There are many reasons why a pitcher should learn how to throw a ball correctly. Here is a very short list! One is to ensure that a pitcher reduces his risk of arm injury by utilizing his entire body to throw as opposed to just relying on arm strength for velocity. Another is to have the ability to throw more consistent strikes. Randy Johnson had horrible control problems, until he learned a few pointers about mechanics. Did you know that you cannot throw a great curveball , change-up or any off-speed pitch if you don’t have good fastball mechanics?
Recently The Pitching Academy released a pitching mechanics DVD covering the basic fundamentals of Mechanics. Dan Gazaway, Owner and Founder of The Pitching Academy, clearly explains how a pitcher can maximize his full throwing potential simply by implementing proper pitching techniques (mechanics) into his delivery. Coach Gazaway informs all pitchers at all levels that “without proper pitching mechanics a pitcher will fail to gain his full throwing potential, he won’t know what he could have truly become.”
Throwing the ball correctly is vital to your success as a pitcher! Not only do proper pitching mechanics affect the velocity and control of every pitch, they greatly reduce the risk of arm injury. The Pitching DVD is for Pitchers at all levels. It breaks down each phase of throwing the baseball as it covers how to generate explosive power for maximum velocity, utilizing your legs and hips correctly, correct balance and posture, easy to learn pitching drills and much more!
If you apply what is taught through the instructional DVD, says Gazaway, you will see immediate results!
Dan Gazaway has instructed over 1,000 pitchers in the last five years. He received his Coaches Certificate from The National Pitching Association in November 2004 and received personal instruction from Tom House, “Father of Mechanics”, for many years. Dan also received his Bachelor’s Degree as a Health Education Specialist in 2002 from Utah State. Be sure to check out Dan's Pitching Mechanics DVD . |
