The heaviest duty batting cage available! The Mastodon™ Batting Cage is an ideal choice for commercial facilities, high school & collegiate programs, parks and rec departments, or anyone who wants a high quality outdoor cage.

The Mastodon™ batting cage frame system includes 8.625" outside diameter structural steel pipes coated with the same finish used on the Alaska Pipeline. It has fewer components, and offers free and clear spans up to 85' in either direction - without significant sag. The poles come completely prepared to accept our tension hardware. The cable tension system ensures that your net will hang properly and needs no special tools.

Features:

  • Available in 55'L or 70' Lengths (custom sizes also available)
  • Standard Nets are 12'W or 14' W
  • Standard Height is 12' H. 14' H also available
  • Comes complete with everything you need to set up your cage
  • Single or multi-stall options are available (combine your poles for multiple cages side-by-side or end-to-end)
  • Custom Soft Toss Net Panels are also available for exterior hitting stations
  • Cable tensioning system ensuring non sagging netting
  • Galvanized steel carabiners
  • Super tough #42 batting cage netting
  • Structural steel poles with corrosion resistant coating
  • Installation available (please call for details)
  • 20 year frame warranty

All poles are corrosion dipped, finished with STRYK 5388, and sealed with a welded top cap preventing internal corrosion. STRYK 5388 is a thick rust-inhibitive coating used on the Alaska pipeline with a high degree of impermeability to moisture. The finish remains highly flexible and elastic in extreme temperatures. It will not support fungal growth in humid or water-immersed environments or crack in extreme weather conditions.

Our cable tensioning system uses galvanized hardware including 3/16" aircraft cable, cable clamps, thimble eye nuts, eye bolts, institutional grade threaded rod, and curved washers. In order to achieve the proper cable tension, the poles in the system shown have 11.5' exposed, and approximately 4.5' in the ground meaning each corner piece is 16'.

Two Mastodon™ batting cages can be placed side by side sharing the center poles. With this system, you save money on the cost of materials, labor, and shipping. Each cage is two feet apart so that balls from one cage will not injure players in another cage.
