The Viper LL271 Model is perfect for the younger kids who want to get a jump on the competition and want to learn to hit with wood. These bats meet little league requirements with a 2.25" barrel and they come in a -8 to -9 weight drop.

Great Youth Wood Bat

My 10yr old son has been using this bat for three weeks now and is really putting some good wood on the ball (no pun intended). The bat is light weight and has an excellent sweet spot.

Excellent Lightweight Youth Wood Bat

Bought this for my 11-year old son to use in a wood bat tournament - mainly because of its lighter weight and the reputation of birch for its toughness. Many solid hits were ripped with this bat in the tourney, and we plan to continue to use it for BP moving forward. Very pleased with this purchase.

Not so great

The bat is durable but lacks power & a sweet spot. Very disappointed was hoping with a light bat to have a lot of great hit. Mostly weak grounders. Go with a nice maple bat would be my suggestion.
